🎭 Greenville steals the show
Greenville theatres at a glance

Greenville is an artsy town. In addition to dance, artwork in public places, and live music, we also have a robust theatre scene. Every theatre in town has its own unique flair, so put down your scripts and let’s take a tour of Greenville’s theatres.
In addition to blockbuster Broadway hits, the Peace Center offers comedy, live music, and speakers on different topics. This is your one stop shop to live a NYC life in Greenville.
Known for producing shows in thrust (read: the audience is on three sides of the stage as opposed to just one), Centre Stage puts on a variety of shows like musicals, straight plays, and comedies. It also has a Fringe series, which highlights some less-produced works.
Warehouse’s motto is “Not Your Average Regional Theatre.” Putting on shows that truly make the audience think, laugh, cry, and maybe feel a bit uncomfortable, this theatre pushes boundaries in the best way possible.

As the oldest and largest theatre in the City, Greenville Theatre is known for its larger than life productions. Check out this 3D rendering to get a feel for the size. Although it typically sticks to musical classics, this theatre has been known to shake it up with a darker or edgier production.
As Greenville’s only comedy dinner theatre, Cafe and Then Some focuses on fun above all. Creating quality productions that are typically locally focused, you can enjoy a loving roast of your hometown, and also enjoy a lovely roast (if roast is on the menu).

Kids are the priority, but parents will want to come too. In addition to theatre camps and classes, SCCT puts on a mainstage season every year with both kids and adults in the cast. Most shows are for kids of all ages, but some have an age recommendation.
GLOW is Greenville’s opera theatre, and it makes us want to sing. Producing three shows a summer, you can expect to find classic operatic pieces, but also more contemporary shows that “respond to the social and political climate.”

Get to know Greenville by volunteering with Meals on Wheels

What’s better than making new friends? Learning about Greenville and giving back to our city at the same time.
When David and Kim Reitz retired in Greenville, they searched for ways to mix up their daily routine. We know what that’s like. After seeing a call for volunteers, it didn’t take long for the couple to find community at Meals on Wheels of Greenville — a local nonprofit delivering nourishment to homebound neighbors in need.
“Volunteering was the perfect way for us to meet new friends,” Kim said. “You won’t believe how much fun you’ll have and how good it will make you feel. It’s one of the best things we’ve done since moving.”
Whether you’re new to Greenville or grew up here, Meals on Wheels can positively impact you while you impact others.
Psst... the nonprofit needs ~785 volunteers a week to support daily operations, so don’t wait to register for orientation.

For the taste-off, Chef Taylor prepared “The Black Beauty,” a tomato sandwich on Urban Wren’s signature black bread. Flipping the script for Hot Tomato Summer, Chef Taylor created a tomato + chorizo empanada.
Competing against six local restaurants in the Tomato Sandwich Taste-off and 24 for Hot Tomato Summer, we think its safe to say this guy knows tomatoes.
I feel like I should be sponsored by tomatoes. Yes, actual, literal tomatoes. Make that happen for me, Greenville. In the meantime, let’s talk liquid tomatoes — aka the Bloody Mary. Where’s your go-to spot for this savory drink? Let me tomat-know.
