As Aunt Tel says, “we only make one thing, so you know it must be good.” You can catch Aunt Tel’s at Farmers Markets around the city, but they have a physical location inside The Seafood Spot.
We know that the sweet potato cake from Brick Street is Greenville famous, but have you ever tried their sweet potato pie? Slices are available Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We couldn’t do a pie round up without including Hester General Store. Owner Katie Cheney tells us that while some people think pie crust shouldn’t be sweet because the filling is, she disagrees. Her secret? “It should taste like a sugar cookie.” Enjoy one of their homemade pie slices on its own, but we recommend a la mode with the signature soft serve.

All strikes, no gutterballs. Josh Powell represented Greenville in the Special Olympics World Games in Germany. Bowling his way into 5th in singles and 3rd and 4th in doubles, Josh said his favorite part was “being with so many people from so many different countries.” Way to go, Josh.

The Simpsonville ampitheatre’s improvements are almost complete. City Administrator Dianna Gracely says seats have been added to CCNB Amphitheatre, ADA ramps have been completed, and the railing is being installed. (Greenville Journal)

Founded in 2014, ONTO is meant to develop young cyclists into “top notch athletes,” and is now one of North America’s most competitive junior groups. Avid cyclist Tor Bennstrom said he wouldn’t be surprised if there are multiple kids in Greenville who one day compete in the Tour de France. The team is currently in Europe, peddling their hearts out in an international race.
Want to get involved but don’t have a bike? Enter: Village Wrench. They have a volunteer program you can join in exchange for a bike. 10 hours of community service will earn you a $100 bike or 20 hours for a $200 bike.
