Duckpin bowling, arcade games, and golf are coming to a new entertainment venue in downtown Greer at 315 Trade St.
Featuring food, wine, beer, and craft cocktails, Trade Street Social is the latest venture for Crafted Community Concepts — a food, beverage, and entertainment group by restaurateur and brewery owner Nate Tomforde and developer Bryan Beal.
Nate and Bryan told the Upstate Business Journal they hope to keep the project entirely hyperlocal, including funding. They’re crowdsourcing Trade Street Social through Vicinity Capital — a Greenville-based platform that allows locals to invest where they live.
“We love what Vicinity does,” Bryan told UBJ. “They’re going to help us drive some local dollars and get some people who live locally in the Greer area excited about something they can ultimately invest in with us. ”
If all goes as planned, Trade Street Social will open in spring or summer 2024.

$864.2 million. That’s the total budget Greenville County Schools approved for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. It is 8.5% higher than the current budget to support increased costs from inflation, growth in student enrollment, and higher health insurance and retirement expenses. (Greenville Journal)

One of my favorite events — The Greenville Literacy Association’s Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale — is coming up Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13, raising money to support adult literacy programs in the Upstate.
