The City of Greenville approved $19 million in state funding towards the $500 million Falls Park Conference District. Also, $7 million in state funding was previously allocated for a museum and gallery, which is no longer part of the development’s plans and has been redispersed. (Greenville Journal)

$350 million. That’s the investment solar cell manufacturer Suniva Inc. is bringing to Laurens County with its first SC plant. The 620,000-sqft facility will create 564 jobs and boost solar production capacity, with operations expected to begin next year. (Upstate Business Journal)

The City of Greenville previewed its Fiscal Year 2027 budget during its first workshop with flat millage and investments in public safety, affordable housing, and infrastructure — plus new funding for a real-time crime center and expanded homeless services. The City of Greenville is spending $3 million to buy 10 properties in Greenline-Spartanburg, aiming to guide redevelopment while preserving the historically Black neighborhood. Redevelopment of the former Kimbrell’s Furniture building is underway, with suite deliveries expected this quarter. Details on tenants haven’t yet been announced, but the project adds to a busy pipeline of adaptive reuse activity in the market. (The State)
