How bad is the traffic in Greenville?
If you look up traffic in the dictionary, there’s a picture of Woodruff Road. | Photo by The Greenville Journal
What would you do with 48 hours? Sit in traffic, apparently. That’s the average time Greenvillians lost to traffic congestion in 2024, which is 5% worse than the year before.
By the numbers
According to a recent report from Texas A&M Transportation Institute, a trip that would take 20 minutes without traffic takes...
23 minutes with traffic
24 minutes in the peak direction
29 minutes to plan for a punctual arrival
Inside the Traffic Management Center

A wall of monitors features live feeds from 65 cameras along with live maps, and the engineers can adjust traffic signals in real-time.

The City of Greenville denied Allen Temple AME’s plan to demolish its historic parsonage, calling it too important to lose. The church says the vacant, damaged home is costly to insure and restore. Both sides agreed to a six-month pause to seek alternatives. (The Post and Courier Greenville)

I ventured out to see “The Outsiders” at the Peace Center, and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Fun fact: The actor who plays Dallas, Tyler Jordan Wesley, went to the Governor’s School — he was incredible.

The day finally arrived — last night was my Girl Dinner reservation at Rôtie. I indulged in the Caesar salad, fries, grazing bites, and a crispy Diet Coke with two of my good friends (hey, Kree + Sarah — two of GVLtoday’s biggest fans). There’s a reason this reservation is so hard to snag, and it’s worth planning ahead to go.
