This Saturday, you’re invited to climb 2,200 stairs at Fluor Field with City of Greenville firefighters in honor of the FDNY first responders who died on Sept. 11, 2001. You can register to participate or observe and show your support.
The gates open at 6:30 a.m., with an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m., and the climb ends at 3 p.m. Keep scrolling to The Wrap for another event happening this weekend to support our local heroes.

The Poinsett Bridge Heritage Preserve will close from Sept. 29 to April 1 for preservation work. Crews will repoint mortar, replace stones, resurface the 1820 Gothic-arch bridge, and add a guardrail — ensuring the Southeast’s oldest bridge stands strong for another 200 years. Clemson is transforming into Bananaland for another exhibition All-Star Game. You can vote now for your favorite Banana Ball players to make the team, and that roster will go head-to-head with the Clemson Tigers on Oct. 23.
