Development
Plans for a downtown conference center are moving forward after three proposals were submitted to a Request for Information by the City of Greenville last month. City leaders are reviewing the proposals, and the private developer would cover the project’s cost with a chance to negotiate financial assistance from the city. (Upstate Business Journal)

Listen up, golf cart owners. A new law went into effect on Thursday, May 22, changing some guidelines. See the new rules. (WYFF 4)
Biz
Reedy Rides — at the corner of McBee and Richardson Streets — is looking for a new space after Grace Church unveiled plans to transform its current location into a youth ministries center. The bike shops lease runs through November 2026, and Grace plans to honor it. (The Post and Courier Greenville)
Eat
Paris Mountain Supper Club — featuring a tasting menu with five courses, beverage pairings, and rotating themes — is taking over Chicora Alley in Travelers Rest on Mondays. For now, there are 40-60 seats available, but the goal is to create a full restaurant that will always have a pre-set tasting menu. (The Post and Courier Greenville)

Businesses must still carry $1 million in liability insurance, but this new law outlines ways businesses serving alcohol after 5 p.m. can lower the insurance amount.

I love a good Flashback Friday, and as we start thinking about Fourth of July plans, I’m personally thinking about Freedom Weekend Aloft, the iconic hot air balloon festival.
