With the weather warming up, many of us are eager to try new things, like visiting a local winery or exploring the outdoors. Whether you’re tasting a new wine or hiring a cleaning service, asking the right questions is key to making the best choice.
Before ordering a new wine, you might consider whether it’s dry or sweet, how it will pair with your meal, and price point.
Similarly, before hiring a cleaning service, you could ask:
Storms will move in today, bringing more much-needed rain. As of Sunday afternoon, the Table Rock Fire was 11,468 acres (9% contained) + the Persimmon Ridge fire was 2,078 acres (24% contained). Over the weekend, federal agencies declared these fires the No. 1 priority for wildfire resources in the nation.
Gallery
Who are the people fighting the Table Rock + Persimmon Ridge fires? Local photographer and National Geographic contributor Mac Stone captured portraits of the Charlie Division that spent 14 hours holding the line on Piney Mountain last week.
Sports
The South Carolina Gamecocks return to their fifth straight Women’s Final Four after defeating Duke in a nail-biter 54-50 win. They’ll face the winner of tonight’s game between Texas and TCU. Could we see an SEC Tournament Championship rematch? Cocky is getting his horns down ready.
Watch
Kamden asked Make-a-Wish to be “the greatest soccer player ever.” On Saturday, the 7-year-old’s wish came true when he became the youngest Greenville Triumph player to ever score a goal in a must-see moment.
In case you missed it, Irashiai Sushi Pub closed its Woodruff Road location. The restaurant says it is consolidating into its Congaree Road location.
Eat
Travinia Italian Kitchen is now open in Mauldin, sharing the space with Maverick Biscuit. There’s more where this came from. Another duo-location with these two restaurants is coming soon to Fountain Inn.

Exclusive first taste: Spinx Sauce
No fooling: Spinx Sauce by Duke’s drops April 1. | Photo by Spinx
City Editor Danielle here. There was life before I tasted Spinx chicken, and life after. IYKYK — our gas station chicken really is that good.
After my first bite, I wondered: Why doesn’t Spinx have its own sauce? With sauces like Chick-fil-A and Cane’s having their own sauce-centered followings, I sent some feedback to Spinx.
I don’t know for sure if it helped, but I’m excited to be the first to share: Spinx is launching its own sauce Tuesday, April 1, alongside new chicken nuggets. No, this isn’t an April Fools joke.
The sauce, created in collaboration with Duke’s, will be available at all Spinx convenience stores and the Spinx Market downtown.
As the first person to try it, I can tell you it’s tangy, sweet, and has a light, but nice, spice. Get ready to dip.
