After seeing a need in the Taylors community for a local watering hole, entrepreneur Chad Choquette secured a property along Wade Hampton Boulevard and got to planning. Meet Taylor’s Station, opening this year — hopefully this summer or early fall, if all goes according to plan.
The name
No, the apostrophe isn’t a typo. Taylor’s Station pays homage to Alfred Taylor’s station along the railroad, which gave the town its original name. The apostrophe was dropped in the early 1900s, but is back in the name of this new development.
The entertainment
The two, 18-hole mini golf courses — to be designed by Harris Mini Golf — will feature waterfalls, waterways, and “challenging yet enjoyable” obstacles.
“We don’t want to be kitschy like a tourist trap. Nothing against them — they’re great,” Choquette told us. “But we want to incorporate local elements that look like Table Rock and the Liberty Bridge instead of something like a giant dinosaur.”

Clemson’s iconic March Madness moments

As we gear up for March Madness, we’re rolling back the clock to see Clemson’s biggest moments in NCAA Tournament history.
1939 | Clemson was invited to the very first NCAA tournament but declined. It may be hard to believe now, but the NIT was considered the more important tournament at the time.
1980 | Clemson’s Cinderella season — which also marked the Tigers’ first tournament appearance — took them to the Western finals.
1990 | Though the Clemson Tigers won two games, the NCAA ordered them to give up the wins due to “major violations of the association’s rules.”
1997 | The Clemson men won two games before falling to the No. 1 seed Minnesota in double overtime in the Sweet Sixteen.
2018 | The Clemson Tigers made it to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1997.
2024 | The Tigers made it to the Elite Eight, leading to a five-year contract extension worth $20 million total for Head Coach Brad Brownell.
