Putting the green (space) in Greenville. | Photo by Greenville County
Greenville County leaders need your help planning the ongoing vision for open space in the county (think: parks, natural habitats, farms, and nature-based recreation spaces).
This new planning stems from the county’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan where citizens provided feedback that they wanted to preserve more open space in the county. In response, the county will develop an action plan that will be implemented over the next decade.
The open spaces will be set aside for private or public use and will not be developed in order to:
Protect water quality + wildlife
Protect flood-prone areas
Ensure food security through working lands
Provide land and water for hunting + fishing
Preserve space for play
Contribute to the health and quality of life for Greenvillians
You can share your feedback by dropping into the public open house on Thursday, Nov. 14 at County Square from 6 to 8 p.m., or by filling out this online survey by Tuesday, Dec. 3.
