When the leaves change and we enter the holiday season, many Greenvillians traditionally hit the road for a long weekend or day trip to Asheville. We all know things look different this year as communities in Western North Carolina are still recovering after Hurricane Helene.
“We are encouraging customers to support local businesses by visiting respectfully, with heart, patience, and planning,” said Explore Asheville, the city’s tourism bureau.
As the city reopens “in stages and pockets,” we’re sharing a guide to hitting the road to Asheville, plus a few resources to follow ahead of your trip.

Our friends at Deck the Hallmark asked where people can find 24/7 holiday music now that Magic 106.3 is not on the air. The good news is, the Upstate holiday tradition you know and love is still happening(just a little differently):
“We are doing our best to provide alternative ways to listen...you can listen on the free Audacy app, a smart speaker or stream off our website magicupstate.com. If you have an HD radio, you can listen on 98.9 HD2 or 93.7 HD4.”
My family plays Whamageddon, so as much as I love a jump-start to the holiday season, I am avoiding “Last Christmas” for at least a few more weeks. It’s too early to lose.
