A new, independent horror film — written, directed, and produced by Greenvillian Silas Rowland — was shot here in the Upstate (specifically in Inman, Gaffney + Spartanburg). “All That is Evil” is about a witch who stalks a “rustic small town,” and Rowland hopes it will be available to stream in 2025. The CDC visited Clemson University after it received a $17.5 million grant to research disease outbreaks. The principal investigator on the project says data from Prisma, MUSC, and others show COVID-19 can be predicted five days ahead of an outbreak with about ~95% accuracy. If you think Greenville’s outdoor concerts are over when summer comes to a close, think again. In addition to Bank of America Fall for Greenville next month, Hampton-Pinckney Porchfest is back this Sunday, Oct. 20. This year, a portion of proceeds will go to North Carolina Arts Foundation’s NC Arts Disaster Relief Fund to provide aid + assistance to artists and art organizations affected by Hurricane Helene.
