This is a slam dunk dink. PKL Park — a 3.7-acre arena at 78 Mayberry St. in Unity Park — is set to open on Saturday, Oct. 19.

What can you expect?

  • Eight professional-grade pickleball courts
  • 10,000+ sqft of green space for outdoor games
  • A stage (dedicated to Mark V Studios)
  • A 20-ft television wall

What about food?

The arena will feature three micro-restaurants.
  • The Kitchen at Mark V Studio — the primary food and beverage concept featuring “American sport foods + healthy options”
  • Toasted — featuring breakfast + lunch food
  • Coop’s Crazy Chicken — dishing out “over-the-top” chicken sandwiches
While you wait for it to open, you can start your training with the city’s fall adult pickleball league or the county’s upcoming Smash Pickleball Tournament.

Let the memes begin. | Photos by The Greenville Zoo
Little miss Moo Deng, the viral pygmy hippo, has taken over our hearts and memes. Although the Greenville Zoo (who just earned accreditation through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums for the 34th year in a row) isn’t home to any hippos, we still have some cute critters that are worth a visit. Here are our top, meme-worthy animals at the zoo.

Lana

Are you kidding? Lana has a face for every mood, and is perfect meme-material.

Lily + Otis

These fox kits were born in April, and give us a major case of cute aggression.

Piper, Pixie, and Poppy

The Greenville Zoo is pretty foxy, and this trio is destined for stardom.

Scar

The scaliest friend on the list, our very own rhinoceros iguana always looks like he’s silently judging you.

Cricket + Mushu

Some of the newest editions to the Zoo, these red pandas are perfectly content to eat snacks and be adorable. What a life.
