• After six years in business, The Eighth State Brewing Company is closing its doors at the end of September. No reason was given for the closure and in the Instagram post announcement, the team said “We’ll always cherish the memories and the community we’ve built together.”

• The City of Greenville officially proclaimed Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month in Greenville, and aims to “celebrate the rich histories, cultures and contributions of people connected to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central + South America.”
