Lettuce share the good news: Potbelly Sandwich Works — a Chicago-based sandwich restaurant — plans to move to SC and is considering Greenville as a location for its first storefront. After finding success with 10 restaurants in NC, the senior VP of franchising told the Greenville News, “Greenville is a priority target market.”

The InnoVision Awards announced its 2024 finalists, and several Upstate businesses made the cut. $10.7 million. That’s how much The City of Greenville plans to spend on property in the Haynie-Sirrine neighborhood with the intention of making affordable housing + maintaining green space.
Becky Warth, co-vice president of the Haynie-Sirrine Neighborhood Association, told the Greenville Journal, “We are very pleased that the city has purchased this very important piece of property. This is a great opportunity to grow our neighborhood in a way that can also be beneficial to the rest of the city.”
The 36-parcel property will be purchased using various funding sources, including:

The parking enterprise fund
The tree fund
The city’s planning commission will host a public hearing on the Haynie-Sirrine plans in September.
