How will it impact me?

• Volunteer | Once we get closer to the date, there will be a call for volunteers + paid positions.
• Traffic | Since the tournament will be at the convention center and not all the bowlers will be in town at once, you should be able to make it to your destination on time with no problems.
• Attending | In addition to building lanes, the convention center will also build spectator seating so you can witness the fun in-person.

• Mark your calendars for Sunday, Aug. 25 — the inaugural Lewis Hatch Chile Roast will be spicing up the city. Lewis Barbecue will bring in more than 3,000 pounds of fresh Hatch chiles for the event that will feature food, drinks, live music, and a kiddie corral.

• Venture Carolina recently announced Upstate Upstarts, a list that will increase the visibility of early-stage tech companies in the Upstate. A new Upstate Upstarts fund through Venture Carolina + other partners will allow investors to help fund the companies on the list.

• United Way of Greenville is seeking school supplies donations for its School Tools Day this Saturday, July 27 at Carolina High School. The free event will feature food trucks, music, activities, and resources for students + families. Donate or volunteer. (Greenville Journal)

• Spartanburg’s baseball team hopes to get keys to its new stadium in February or March. Last week, crews began work on the seating bowl + construction is reportedly on schedule. (WYFF)

• Indoor climate technology company Halton MEI USA, Inc. plans to establish its first SC manufacturing facility in Anderson County. The $2.6 million investment at 120 Exchange Logistics Park Dr., Piedmont will create ~65 new jobs.

• Artist Sunny Mullarkey’s newest exhibit “Soul in Bloom” will open at Spoonbill Gallery in The Village on Friday, Sept. 6. You can head to the artist reception during First Fridays on September 6 from 6 to 9 p.m.
