Pro tip: Every month, the City of Greenville hosts a Project Preview Meeting for Greenvillians to learn about upcoming developments going through the city’s approval process. This month’s open house is tomorrow, June 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Prisma Health Welcome Center at Unity Park (with a special presentation to follow from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.).
This month’s meeting features a stacked lineup of projects in progress. Here are five you need to know about:

The gears are turning. | Photos by Fred Rollison
Celebrating 30 years in business, BMW Manufacturing is opening its first press shop in North America, right here in the Upstate — Spartanburg, to be exact.
With this new shop comes new BMW models: the Fourth-Generation BMW X3 + the Silver Anniversary Edition of the BMW X5. You can get your hands on these new rides in the fall.
By the numbers
219,000. That’s how many sqft the shop has. The space will produce sheet metal parts (think: doors, fenders, and lift gates) for the BMW X3.
$200 million. That’s the total investment our community will receive from this project.
200. That’s how many new jobs will be created.
According to a press release sent about the shop, by 2026, the assembly of all electric sports activity vehicles will start at the new shop in Sparkle City. We think that’s BMW-utiful.
