What do TIME Magazine, the Joro Spider, and Clemson University have in common? Answer: Dr. David Coyle, an assistant professor in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation at Clemson University. Coyle recently did an interview with TIME about the Joro Spider, and you might be able to spot on in the Upstate.

$40,000. That’s how much LS3P Foundation — a nonprofit committed to “enhancing the southeastern communities through the built environment” — was awarded to Clemson’s architecture department. The grant will be used to help find “sustainable alternatives to tourist developments” on the East Coast Barrier Islands. Go, Tigers. (Greenville Journal)

Sneak peek: Go inside the new Spinx Market & Eatery on Main Street
From breakfast to late night bites, this is the spot. | Photo by GVLtoday
Nothing about this stinks Spinx. The “retro” Spinx Market & Eatery’s special exception permit (asking if the operating hours could be 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.) was approved by the City of Greenville’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
As part of the approval terms, alcohol sales will end at 12 a.m. + the market will have security between 12 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. for the first 60 days it’s open.
The shop, located at 659 S. Main St., will offer convenience and grocery items, food offerings, and will feature an outdoor patio for sipping beer + wine on-site.
Picture this: I’m sitting at the bar at Farehouse in Taylors Mill. I look over and see a woman whose look is just... working. Naturally, I have to tell her. We strike up a conversation. As she leaves, she hands me a sticker for her business, Millions of Peaches — a lifestyle subscription box featuring women-owned businesses. I remember that Millions of Peaches just partnered with Six and Main. I literally run out the door to tell her I work for GVLtoday. We become best friends.
