Clink, clink. We’d like to make a toast.
This summer — Monday, July 22-Friday, July 26 — we’ll be raising a glass to Drink Up Week, a celebration of entrepreneurs, mixologists, venues, and beverages across our buzzy city.
From coffee, tea, and smoothies to wine, craft beer, and specialty cocktails and mocktails — we’ll be covering it all in hopes of showcasing Greenville’s vibrant drink culture.
Now, this is where you come in.
If you own a local beverage business or know someone who does, celebrate Drink Up Week with us by offering a fun drink deal or two to our readers — say 50% off margaritas, BOGO smoothies, or 20% off a beer flight (mix it up, we’re open to ideas). Drop your deal into this form by Friday, June 28 and our local City Editors will include it in an interactive map of all the deals happening during Drink Up Week. There’s no charge to submit deals.
We’ll also highlight a few of the can’t-miss drink deals here in our newsletter. Want to make sure your drink special makes it in? You can guarantee inclusion by purchasing a paid content package.
Meanwhile, if you’re a reader who wants to experience Greenville through Drink Up Week, sip tight. Before Drink Up rolls around, we’ll be working hard to pull together a list of local drink deals and fun stories about our city’s drink scene.
We want to know — is there a local business you’d love to see participate in Drink Up Week? Forward this newsletter to them and tell them we’d love it if they joined us.

Mill Village Farms is looking for bilingual (Spanish + English) volunteers to assist at its drive-thru distribution site to help prioritize the experience of Spanish-speaking customers. Send an email if you’re available to help for a 2-4 hour shift every other Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at CommunityWorks, located at 100 W. Antrim Dr.
Feel Good
This is pawesome. After a City of Greenville Public Works crew heard meowing while landscaping on I-385, they saved a kitten from the fast-moving traffic. The “cat distribution system” selected the Public Works Deputy Director, who now has a new furry family member.
Travel
Ready for a trip to the Northeast? We heard it’s cooler up there. Avelo Airlines now offers nonstop flights from GSP International Airport to Manchester, NH (hello, nearby Boston) + Rochester, NY, in addition to their existing service to New Haven, CT. Book your next trip.*
Number
$8.3 billion. That’s how much the South Carolina Education Lottery has allocated (so far) to benefit education in our state since its start in 2002. Now that’s a win. See where the money goes.*
Family
Beat the summer heat with YMCA of Greenville’s swim lessons. Register by Saturday, June 8 for sessions running from June 3-27. Learn water safety, stay active, and master swimming — a vital skill for a lifetime of fun. Sign up for lessons.*
Wellness
Don’t let summer heat drain you. One scoop of Native Hydrate electrolyte drink mix = increased energy levels, improved muscle strength, and improved bladder function all season long.*
The Buy
Summer snacks. Pack the cooler with our favorite beach + pool snacks to satisfy your cravings while soaking up the sun.
On Saturday, I checked a big item off my Greenville bucket list: The Take Flight 5K. The record-breaking race saw 1,000+ runners taking to the Greenville Downtown Airport runway. The race always takes place the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and supports the community corridor (think: Runway Park), if you’re looking to attend this event in 2025.
