The Salvation Army unveils $16 million redesign plans
A look at what is to come. | Renderings by McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture
The Salvation Army of Greenville unveiled plans to revitalize its campus at 501 Rutherford St. The $16 million redesign will move all services — currently spread between five buildings — under one roof by adding corridors for connectivity.
Changes to the 45,000-sqft social services campus include:
Increasing the total number of beds from 93 to 143
Creating new transitional housing
Offering family units to keep couples + parents with children together
Expanding the dining hall and making it less “institutional”
Enhancing security
The chapel on the campus will remain, but will undergo improvements to complement the other updates.
The organization started a capital campaign to support the improvements. Click the button below to learn more about how to support the project.
