The Greenville Chamber launched an endowment campaign to support a new leadership program called Impact Greenville. Including business + nonprofit executives, Leadership Greenville alumni, and community leaders, Impact Greenville will be aimed at developing “innovative solutions to community challenges.” (Upstate Business Journal)
Sports
The Clemson Tigers accepted a bid to play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Dec. 29 in Jacksonville, FL and will play Kentucky (hey, LEXtoday) at the EverBank Stadium at noon on ESPN. (The Clemson Insider)
Development
The Greenville County Historic + Natural Resources Trust has announced plans to redevelop the former Oakland Plantation site in Simpsonville into a 54-acre park. The County will purchase the property from YMCA Greenville for $1.2 million + has raised $250,000 to support the restoration of several historic 19th-century buildings.
