We know we haven’t passed Halloween on the calendar yet, but we have some exciting holiday season news we just can’t hold in any longer. The Press Room — a speakeasy hidden inside the AC Hotel Greenville — will assume a new identity for the holiday season. Meet: The Après Ski Lodge Bar & Lounge, a new pop-up winter wonderland opening November 9 and running through February 2024.
In partnership with champagne house Veuve Clicquot, the concept is set to transport you to a high-end winter resort and ski lodge, capturing an après ski (read: French for “after skiing”) vibe described as “alpine cabin comfort with a flair for the quirky.”
The “one-of-a-kind” pop-up is said to feel like a members-only club — but don’t worry, there’s no membership required.
‘Tis the ski-son.

The decor
“The vibe is inspired by the legendary memories of friends loosening their boots and reuniting over drinks after an epic day on the slopes,” the AC Hotel describes.
The cozy speakeasy will feature ski-themed decor as you’re transported to the base of a 14,000-sqft slope in the French Alps with a yeti welcoming you as you step inside. Relax by the fireplace as the staff serves you in their knit caps and puffer vests.
The menu
Sip on handcrafted cocktails from the limited edition menu. While they’re keeping the specifics under wraps for now, we know the drinks will have on-theme names like “Yeti or Not, Here We Come” and “Ski Patrol.” Plus, munch on shareable snacks like truffle-infused popcorn and artisan beef jerky as you and your crew recover from the slopes (wink wink).
How to experience this
There won’t be reservations for this experience. It’s first-come, first-served for smaller parties. If your group is 5+ people, email skilodge@pressroomgvl.com to secure a spot. Pro tip: If you’re looking for a place to host your holiday party, the hotel offers buyout packages that are available now.

I get to know some really amazing business owners through working with GVLtoday, and Greenville Bike Taxi and Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery were already two of the kindest. It was no surprise that they, like so many people I meet, were quick to share their talents.
Our city and these businesses went above and beyond to help a woman ride the Swamp Rabbit Trail one last time. As I watched (and cried), I couldn’t help but think, “I am so proud to be a Greenvillian.”
