That’s the slogan of Greenville Bike Taxi, the city’s newest pedicab service.

Phil Gonzalez — a recent Charleston transplant and nine-year pedicab driver — cofounded Greenville Bike Taxi with his father, Leonard, and stepmom, Joy. The business offers a green (and scenic) way to get around downtown.

How can I ride?

There are three ways to ride — all ages (and pups) are welcome on board:
  • Call to schedule a pickup — estimated wait times are 5-10 minutes.
  • Find a parked Greenville Bike Tax — near its HQ across from Gather Greenville or along Main Street.
  • Make a reservation online — pedicabs can be reserved for a date night out, bachelorette party, and even wedding send-offs, complete with a “Just Married” sign.

Where can I ride?

Greenville Bike Taxi serves the downtown Greenville area — between Fluor Field and Bon Secours Wellness Arena and between Cleveland Street and the West End. When it comes to roads 35 MPH or faster, it’s a no-go.

When can I ride?

Catch a ride Monday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (weather permitting).

From the editor
I had a blast riding up and down Main Street while getting to know Phil. Fun Fact: He drove a pedicab in Auckland, NZ at one point. I love exploring a new city by pedicab and getting to know the drivers and the place they call home. Do you have a fun pedicab experience? Share it with me.
