If you haven’t been to a match, what are you waiting for? | Photo by the Greenville Triumph
The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club is in its final weeks of practice before opening its fifth season Saturday, March 25 at its new home, Paladin Stadium at Furman University.

If you haven’t cheered on the Triumph with the rowdy fans — affectionately known as the Reedy River Riot what are you waiting for?

You’ll have 16 chances to catch the team at home this year, but we recommend starring these five dates so you don’t miss the fan-favorite theme nights:
Pro Tip: Get your gear to cheer on the Triumph at the Team Store (22 S. Main St.) or shop online.

Who to watch

Brandon Fricke | Defender | A three-time All-League selection, Fricke has made 70 appearances for the Triumph.

Evan Lee | Defender | Another All-League defender, Lee has been with the Triumph since its inaugural season, having played in 93 matches.

Aaron Walker | Midfielder | In each of his four seasons with the Triumph, Walker has been co-captain and earned All-League Second Team honors in 2021 — he’s first Triumph player to make 100 appearances for the team.

Jacob Labovitz | Forward | Last season as a rookie, Labovitz scored a brace and a hat trick in the same week, setting the record for most goals (five) scored by a single player in one week in USL League One history.

Ready, set, give. Today is YMCA of Greenville’s annual Day of Giving, a one-day event that provides an opportunity to help support local YMCAs, which help support local communities. This year’s goal: Raise $202,300 to provide financial assistance for children and adults in need.

During last year’s event, $187,000+ was raised thanks to nearly 800 donors. This year, the goal is to grow that number, so the Y can provide even more financial assistance and fund the Y Food Program, which serves hundreds of school children and families every week.

Other programs Greenvillians can help support include:
All donations stay within the YMCA of Greenville Association. To support our local Y, text GIVING to 71777 or donate through the website. Let’s get giving, GVL.*

THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Danielle.

Editor’s pick: St. Patrick’s Day is a big day for my Irish-side of the family, and I can’t wait to celebrate in Greenville this weekend. DYK I grew up Irish step dancing? I’m a little rusty, but I still remember the traditional “St. Patrick’s Day” dance. Maybe I’ll pull out my moves at NOMA Square. How will you be celebrating? Let me know.
