I was able to experience the opening day of “Our Own Work, Our Own Way: Ascendant Women Artists in the Johnson Collection,” an exhibition highlighting works of art from 42 women artists of the 20th century who had connections to the South, including artists from Columbia. These women often faced forms of sexism, racism, or both, and the exhibition celebrates and champions their achievements and art.*
Applications for the City of Greenville’s first Youth Poet Laureateare open. The Youth Poet Laureate will mentor under Glenis Redmond — the City’s current Poet Laureate — and serve a two-year term to promote literacy and literature among city residents of all ages. Apply by Friday, March 10.

The Greenville Triumph’s preseason schedule is out. The team kicks off its four-match preseason on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. against the Charlotte Independence in an open-to-fans scrimmage at Bob Jones University (1700 Wade Hampton Blvd.). Greenville Triumph’s regular season starts Saturday, March 25 at Paladin Stadium. ⚽
