Something sweet opens this weekend

When the craving for something sweet hits, we have the perfect new spot for a unique treat: Mak & Cheesecakes — a New York-style cheesecake shop with a Southern twist — opens in Simpsonville tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 11.
Owner Lisa Forbes returned home to the Upstate after a trip to New York determined to create the perfect cheesecake recipe. After three years of trial and error, she nailed it, and Mak & Cheesecakes was born.

You may recognize her from slinging slices out of her cheesecake tricycle and popping up at spots like City Scape Winery and Wine Xpress Five Forks. Now, you can get a slice consistently in one spot: Her storefront at 510S.E. Main St., Simpsonville.
With a new space comes an extended menu. Try new crust flavors like lemon andpeanut butter —still made of cookies, Lisa’s signature touch. Plus, make it sweeter with new toppings like housemade whipped cream, blueberries, peanut butter cups, and toffee.
If you’re a fan of the original flavors, don’t worry — you can still grab salted caramel, strawberry, fudge, or just a naked slice.

Also new to the menu: A cheesecake-stuffed cookie sandwich and a selection of minis, in case you can’t just pick one flavor. We don’t blame you.
