Its purpose? To illustrate the restrictions poverty places on choices, opportunities, and access to resources. JLG advocates are wearing one black dress (or outfit) all weekto symbolize the discomfort of having limited resources — and to spark conversations about poverty + related issues.
Addy’s Dutch Cafe and Restaurant (17 E. Coffee St.) announced it will permanently close its doors. The European-style eatery says it will open for a limited time this week to allow patrons to take home a token or imported beer in exchange for a donation. (Upstate Business Journal)
