As Greenvillians ourselves, we love making sure that Greenville has access to the most robust, relevant, and hyperlocal events calendar possible. In part, we rely on readers like you to keep us in the loop — start submitting your events now. (Just like before, you can add your event to our calendar for free, but we’ve also added a few new paid promotional opportunities to take advantage of as well, starting at just $15.)
In addition to the hundreds of events that you can discover each month on our website, each issue of our newsletter features a dedicated events section, with our curated editorial picks for the upcoming week, organized by day. Keep scrolling just a little bit and you’ll see what we mean. Pro tip: Click the link to see our full calendar if you want to start planning ahead.
Want to know which events we’re most excited about? Your friendly neighborhood City Editors (👋 that’s us, Danielle + Kyle) can often be found out and about at the newest restaurant openings, baseball games, festivals, and arts events — see what we’re up to in the Wrap section at the bottom of each newsletter or by following us on Instagram @GVLtoday.

Be the broker: What should go in this South Main Street property available for lease?
The property offers rear access to Falls Park. | Colliers
Earlier this week, we told you the former Cook’s Station building at 659 S. Main St. — where Augusta, River, and South Main Streets come together — is available for a long-term ground lease.
We asked you to be the broker + let us know what you’d like to see in the space. You have some great ideas.
Retail
“Any chance Ace Hardware would take the space? Downtown dwellers could use a hardware store!” — Diane D.
Market, bakery, or deli
“Downtown Greenville needs a comprehensive European bakery... It needs to have seating and good coffee options as well. Make it a true destination.” — Erika W.
Dining
“I would love to see a casual eating option (like sandwiches/salads/bowls) that does not require a sit down eating experience.” — Sydney H.
Offers for the ~4,000-sqftbuilding, located across from the former Army Navy Store, are due Mon., Oct. 10. Once we find out what’s going in the space, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Editor’s pick: As we say hello to September and the start of fall, I’m reminiscing on my summer travels to France and Germany. Thank you Off the Grid Greenville for the reminder that I can find some of my favorite authentic European dishes at home.
