$206 billion. That’s a lot of money. So much money that it’s $7.7 billion more than Jeff Bezos’ net worth. 🤯

That $206 billion is the economic impact of the manufacturing industry in our state each year, according to the Darla Moore School of Business at UofSC, SC Future Makers + SC Manufacturers Alliance.

SC Future Makers reported 30% of jobs in the state are tied to manufacturing + the industry pays 33% higher annual wages than the state average. Plus, 16% of SC’s GDP is associated with manufacturing. The numbers speak for themselves.

The report also highlights the importance of SC’s Technical College System and how it’s one of the main institutions for workforce training in our state. It goes on to say the majority of these students studying manufacturing come from the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson areas.
