The 8.29-acre site at 1430 Hampton Ave. Ext. (between Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery + Birds Fly South) is next to the Reedy River. Woodfield Investments plans to purchase the property from current owners, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, once rezoning is approved.

Woodfield Investments is a Charlotte-based developer with several other projects in Greenville including The Greene (watch our virtual tour of the complex here) and .408 Jackson (the proposed development of the Shoeless Joe Jackson museum site). The Riverside development will include studio and 1-3 bedroom units, common areas + standard amenities. Rental rates are expected to average $1,100-$2,100.

County Council is scheduled to have a second reading of the proposal to rezone the property’s current industrial designation on Aug. 20. If approved, construction is expected to begin by the end of the year with the first units ready by Nov. 2020. We’ll keep you updated as we know more on the project.
