“Andy Warhol: Endangered Species” and “Works by Warhol” open tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Upcountry History Museum (540 Buncombe St.).

“Andy Warhol: Endangered Species”

This 10-piece collection was created in 1983 to raise awareness for animals recognized in the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (think: bald eagle).

UHM is the first to introduce this bilingual exhibition with tactile reproduction images and braille information labels for those with visual impairments and one of three US museums selected by the Art Bridges Foundation in Bentonville, AR to host the collection.

“Andy Warhol: Endangered Species” will be on display through Sunday, April 30.

“Works by Warhol”

Featuring 35 pieces from 1968 to 1986, this exhibition showcases some of the artist’s most iconic works showing his responses to moments in US history, like John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

“Works by Warhol” will be on display through Sunday, May 7.
