Greenville Federal Credit Union is searching for a full time Mortgage Loan Officer.  This position is responsible for attracting new mortgage loans by identifying and responding to members’ needs.  Responsibilities include effectively interviewing members, researching for cross-sell opportunities, developing relationships within the community, calling prospective mortgage members, and responding to referrals within the real estate community.  This position also must stay abreast of general economic conditions, laws, regulations, and bankruptcy legislation as well as manage specific compliance issues relating to CFPB.  Assisting with processing loans, maintaining complete and accurate mortgage loan files as well as overseeing escrow analysis annually are additional duties of this position.

• Qualified candidates should possess 2-5 years of similar experience in the lending/financial field and education equivalent to two years of college or an Associate’s degree in a related field of study. Candidates should also possess the ability to communicate with internal and external members in a clear, concise, and professional manner with basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, lending and Outlook software; possess ability to think creatively, independently and accept responsibility; track record for working with and maintaining confidential and sensitive member information; and, proven ability to multitask and deliver on commitments in a highly results-oriented environment.
• Maintain eligibility and ability to register with the National Mortgage Licensing System.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Previous experience in a mortgage lending role at a financial institution is preferred.
