The best way to make sure your voice is heard in our country (especially with the General Election right around the corner) is to vote. (If you still have any questions on that, take a look at our handy dandy, comprehensive guide to voting in November.)

Probably the next best option is to contact your government officials and let them know how you feel about local issues, but this can be extremely intimidating for so many people. Where do I start? Who is my representative? How do I get in touch with them?

Lucky for us, the City of Greenville has a wonderful, interactive resource you can use to see who your elected officials are and the different methods for contacting them.

As you can see from the image above, you can use the map to determine your –

○ Voter Precinct

○ City (of Greenville) Council District

○ Greenville County Council District

○ SC House District

○ SC Senate District

○ US Congressional District

There are a few ways you can use this map to determine your elected officials. Manually zoom in on (or close to) your place of residence + use the menu bar on the left to select your representatives. Their contact information will automatically populate when you click their names.

For those of you who are a bit more geographically challenged, you have a couple of different options. If you live in the City of Greenville, you can use the “Find Districts by Clicking on Map” option + click on your address to populate your representatives. (#ProTip: Make sure you zoom in on the city until you see the blue dots.) If you live in or outside of the city, you can use the “Determine Political Districts by Address” option. (#ProTip: Wait for your address to automatically populate as you type. Generated data may be limited for locations outside of the City of Greenville.)

A final troubleshooting tip – if you’re having trouble viewing different districts, click “Layer List (change layer visibility),” and make sure various map layers are not impeding your search.

Happy exploring, Greenville – we hope you find this map just as useful + interesting as we did.
