Greenville City + County leaders are taking action to accommodate workers with lower-income jobs in Greenville.

Greenville City Council has already designated $2 million to go towards fixing the lack of affordable housing options. Lillian Brock Flemming (who just won her 10th term as District 2 Councilwoman) campaigned on creating more low + moderate income housing solutions.

The county has conducted studies on housing and is working with developers on new affordable houses in West Greenville, says District 25 Councilman Ennis Fant. Those houses would likely be open within 18 months.

“We have to make sure Greenville is a city in which people of all incomes can live,” Flemming said to the Greenville Journal earlier this year.
